If you care about climate change being addressed by elected representatives in Parliament, this scorecard is for you. Climate Club’s purpose is to educate communities on the causes and consequences of climate change, and what we can do to fight it. Voting is a high impact lever to incite change. We are not endorsing any specific party or candidate, merely evaluating them against our criteria to fight climate change, based on the eight categories identified below.

Our team contacted all parties requesting comments on these policies and when no response was received, proactively assessed climate policies from parties, taking past policies where there is no indication they have changed. We have also researched public statements and past track records of delivery (for those recently leading a Government in parliament).

The team will continue to review policy announcements and make updates as new policies are announced.

✅ = Yes = evidence of policy supporting statement and / or solid track record of delivering
🤔 = Unsure = insufficient evidence to support statement, or no confidence that the policy package will have the desired effect
❌ = No = evidence that opposes this policy, or public statements / press releases in opposition to this statement
🤷🏻‍♀️= Not enough information = no evidence or very little evidence
